"2023 Campaign: Primary Prevention to Save a Life"
"2023 Campaign: Primary Prevention to Save a Life"
July 31, 2023, marks the 23rd Angel Day for Anthony and then the first Cardiac Screening in his honor began in 2001 at Kansas State University, his college. By 2002, his mother, Sharon Bates, founded the Anthony Bates Foundation (ABF) in Phoenix, Arizona, with the first Cardiac Screening here in their hometown. Recently achieved by ABF, a milestone of over 17,000 youth, older siblings, parents and grandparents screened with over 2400 lives changed and/or saved. As well, ABF Affiliate Teams across the USA have screened over 1.3 Million lives due to the ABF Community Screening Training program, continued to be overseen by Sharon Bates.
To continue these efforts we need contributors at all levels of giving so we forward the ABF mission. As we expand our mission to carryout primary prevention screenings, we look to expand our areas of service beyond Phoenix, Maricopa County, other areas in Arizona and surrounding states including Colorado, Utah, Nevada, & California. The ABF Founder/CEO, Sharon Bates, has influenced programs in 45 states in the US and 12 countries: Australia, Canada, China, Denmark, France, Germany, Iran, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Italy, Japan, and the UK.
This year plans are underway to reprint Sharon Bates’ Manual and Video: ‘How to Run a Community Screening’ with a Health Care Publisher.

Please join us as contributors as we carry out our Mission: The Anthony Bates Foundation (ABF) believes that no parent should suffer the heartbreak of losing a child to an undiagnosed cardiac malady; we seek to eliminate preventable Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA). The organization will fulfill its mission by continuing our efforts to establish a nationwide heart screening program for youth, free of charge or low cost, thus solving a significant public health issue through screenings, education, collaboration and facilitation.
From my heart to yours,
The Anthony Bates Foundation Team!
