Got some bad news for you ladies . . .
. . . Heart Disease is your #1 death threat to:
• Caucasian Women
• African American Women
• Native American Women
And, the #2 Death threat to:
• Hispanic Women
• Asian Women
• Pacific Islander Women
Heart Disease is killing more women than the next four causes of death combined, including all forms of cancer. And, unfortunately, only 56% of the population of women are aware that Heart Disease is their #1 health threat.
HEART DISEASE KILLS 1 OUT OF EVERY 5 WOMEN! Heart Disease doesn’t affect all women the same. Plus, the symptoms and signs for Heart Disease are different in women than they are in men. 64% of women who die of a Sudden Cardiac Arrest had no previous symptoms of Heart Disease. Women are 15% more likely than men to die of a Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) or a heart attack, and they are twice as likely to have a second event (SCA or heart attack) in the 6 years following the first.
Unfortunately, this public health crisis of Heart Disease is spreading to young and middle aged women. As women we need to be pro-active about our own heart health. One of the ways we can do that is to get regular heart screenings. “Screen the Moms” was developed by myself in collaboration with the Anthony Bates Foundation (ABF), to help “you”, protect your heart and your family. What’s your life worth?
“Screen the Moms” was developed to coincide along with Youth Heart Screenings offered by ABF, because we know us Moms are often the ones who are taking care of everyone and not always thinking about our own needs. While you are getting your kids and loved ones heart checked at the ABF Youth Heart Screenings, we want to give you the opportunity to think about yourself, and your own heart health. So you can be there for their graduations, their marriage, your grandchildren, etc. Your premature death would be devastating to your family. Get peace of mind with an Anthony Bates Foundation Heart Screening!
Even though this is called, “Screen the Moms”, this is a service that is available for all women! Whether you are a Mom, a Grandma (your risk increases 10 years after menopause and beyond), a teacher, a coach, a nanny, a sister, a cousin, never been a mom or grandma, you are all welcome to take part in these heart screenings for women. You owe it to yourself and your family!
